Union Coop, in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, distributed new Hijri calendar 1445 AH to all shoppers and customers of the cooperative, across all its branches in the Emirate of Dubai.

The distribution of the new Hijri calendar is part of enhancing the Islamic identity, given its inclusion of prayer times and the beginnings of the Hijri months. It presents a set of dates that are important to Muslims, such as the start of the new Hijri year, the fasting day of Ashura, the date of the Prophet’s birthday (Mawlid), the start of Ramadan, the dates of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, along with other religious reminders and traditions. The initiative of distributing the new Hijri calendar was well received by all segments of society among the cooperative’s shoppers.

The distribution of the Hijri calendar at the Etihad Mall was overseen by Mr. Hamdan Ahmed Mohammed, Senior Executive, Corporate Communication at (IACAD), Mr. Hilal Al Fili, Head of Corporate Communication Section at (IACAD), and Mr. Shuaib Al Hammadi, Senior Media Section Manager, Union Coop. The event was attended by a number of employees from the cooperative and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities.
