As part of its expansion efforts and open new branches in various regions of Dubai, Union Coop, the largest consumer cooperative in the UAE, Union Coop, revealed the details of the outsourcing of consultancy works (design/supervision) to develop a Commercial Center and a Mosque in the Dubai Silicon Oasis.

According to Eng. Madiya Al Marri, Director of Properties and Projects Division, Union Coop: “The Commercial Center will be built on an area of 141, 589 sq. ft. and the Mosque will be 38,300 sq. ft. The total buildup area of the project will be 213,000 sq. ft. The approximate total construction cost of the project is AED 60 Million.”

“The project consists of a Commercial Center with a Basement floor containing spaces and service areas. The ground floor contains shops and parking spaces, while the first floor contains mainly a Union Coop hypermarket on an area of about 50,000 sq. ft. and commercial shops.”

“In addition to the Commercial Center, a Mosque will also be built, with ground floor containing the Men’s prayer hall that can accommodate 500 worshippers, and a women prayer hall that can accommodate about 100 worshippers. It also has a service building containing the ablution area and housing facility for the Imam and Muezzin, all this in addition to the external car parking facilities. The project is currently in the design phase, with the design work expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019, expect the implementation by the first quarter of the year 2020,” said Al Marri.
