Union Cooperative honours 735 outstanding students

Union Coop, the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE has honoured 109 academically outstanding students of shareholders’ children as part of ‘Kafoo’ programme – third session – academic year 2018 – 2019 held at Hotel ‘InterContinental – Festival City. This academic recognition falls within the framework of Union Coop’s strategic objective to ensure shareholders happiness.
The ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi, Chairman of Union Coop, HE Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi, CEO of Union Coop, Dr. Eesa Mohammed Bastaki, President of Dubai University, HE Khalifa Hassan Aldrai, Executive Director of Dubai Ambulance Services, Ghia Al Muhairi, Director of Dubai Educational Zone and number of Department Managers of Union Coop, in the presence of a large gathering of parents.
Addressing the ceremony, Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi, CEO of Union Coop stressed on the importance of investment in developing human resources and encourage ‘creativity, innovation and excellence. He said: – “Union Coop honoured 735 students over three sessions out of its keenness to contribute towards the development of a generation capable of keeping up with the future, its challenges, build a foundation based on knowledge and development.”
He further pointed out the aspirations of the wise leadership by saying: – “’Education’ has been the forefront of UAE’s leadership and its founder The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May Allah Rest His Soul), who prioritized improving the living condition of citizens as soon as possible and promoted education as the foundation of comprehensive development.”
Al Falasi stresses on the importance of educating and motivating the youth through programs like these, he said: – “Our nation’s foundation and real investment lies in the educated youth who are capable of achieving their dreams while staying ahead of the recent developments at the same time. The program aims at honoring the outstanding achievements of the shareholders’ children and contribute to the aspirations of our wise leadership H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President of the UAE and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and ruler of Dubai, who have always stressed on the importance of investment in developing human resources and encourage ‘creativity, innovation and excellence.”
