‘Union Coop’ is excited to announce its partnership with ‘du’, the leading telecom and digital services provider, to transform our retail operations through cutting-edge energy management and smart cart solutions. This initiative was unveiled at GITEX 2024, where du showcased its commitment to “Global collaboration to forge the future AI economy.”

The project comprises two key components aimed at enhancing the customer experience and operational efficiency. First, the robust energy management system will minimize energy consumption across retail sites, starting with a pilot location before being deployed to others. By employing IoT sensors, automated control systems, and advanced data analytics, the aim is to meticulously monitor and manage energy usage, aligning with our sustainability goals.

These smart carts will feature on-cart navigation, personalized product recommendations, and streamlined checkout options, making the shopping experience more productive and efficient.

Initial pilot implementations of the energy management system have already demonstrated a substantial reduction in energy usage, with plans to roll this out across more than ten locations.
