His Highness inspires young athletes to achieve more

Union Coop praised the support offered by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him, towards Emirati sports and for empowering the youth. It should be highlighted that His Highness attaches great importance to sports and supports it continuously, to motivate the youth to achieve greatness and promote sports local and globally.

This came after Sheikh Mohammed received a delegation of Shabab Al Ahli Club, the winners of ADNOC Pro League 2022– 2023 season, who won it for the 8th time, in the presence of Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance; Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shabab Al Ahli Club; and Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.

Sheikh Mohammed while congratulating the club highlighted that UAE has placed ‘sports’ among the vital sectors, thereby offering the necessary support and care. This enhances the ability of various sports teams to achieve remarkable victories in local championships and attain great status in the international forums as well.

His Highness congratulated the members of the club’s board of directors, the players, and the technical and administrative staff for the club’s achievement. Moreover, His Highness praised the brilliant performance of the players and their efforts throughout the tournament, as the matches were highly competitive due to the talented participating teams.

Addressing the players, His Highness said, “With your efforts, determination, persistence, team spirit, and understanding, victory was yours. It is possible for you to get first place, but the biggest challenge is to maintain it.” His Highness called on them to continue their perseverance and diligence to reach higher levels of excellence and wished them all success in the upcoming tournaments.

Sheikh Mohammed took commemorative photos with the players, the club’s sponsors, and its technical and administrative staff. The team members expressed their happiness on this generous gesture by His Highness and appreciated the words of motivation and encouragement, which has a great impact on them. They further stressed their determination to double down on their efforts to win more titles in the future, both inside and outside the country.
