The Cooperative won the award under the 3-star category for the best employment practices and comprehensive use of global benchmarks including labor policies, facilities and infrastructure, health and safety, labor security, recruitment and wages, justice and transparency, communication and feedback, creativity and innovation, administration, labor perceptions and key performance indicators.

Union Coop received a Certificate of Appreciation for its participation in the fifth round of the Labor Award (Taqdeer) for the year 2022, for demonstrating a commitment to excellence in the practice of labor welfare and qualifying for the 3-star classification, which was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, during a ceremony organized by the award to honor the distinguished companies and workers who won the award in its fifth session for the year 2022.

Representing Union Coop, the award was received by Mr. Tariq Alserkal – Staff Accommodation Unit Head in the presence of several cooperative employees.

Taqdeer Award has been created to recognize and reward excellence in labour relations, strengthening the Emirate of Dubai’s position as home to the most progressive employers in the Middle East. The award is held every two years and targets companies that have more than 50 employees. The criteria for awarding is based on international labor practices, especially the ones approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the International Labour Organization and other relevant bodies concerned with the protection of the rights of workers.

For its part, Union Coop thanked the awards for its role in improving the performance of private enterprises when it comes to supporting and enhancing the working environment, and further motivating them to adhere to the established standards and laws that are per the legal requirements of the country as well.
