Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Union Coop Highlight Social Solidarity

Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Union Coop, the largest cooperative in UAE, have started distributing 1300 gift packages on pilgrims heading to the holy land for Haj ritual. The initiative, conducted for the second year in a raw.
The initiative aims to instill the spirit of social solidarity and highlight the importance of humanitarian and charity values in society. The initiative also aims at strengthening ties with strategic partners in social responsibility programs.
Commenting on the initiative, Mohammed Abdulla Langwai, executive director of Aviation Security and Accident Investigation at DCAA, said: “Via CSR initiatives, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority aims to achieve its strategy that focuses on bringing happiness to all social sectors.
Driven by its commitment to its society, the authority has worked in collaboration with Union Coop to distribute Haj gift packages for the second year in a raw, with the goal of enhancing social service.”
For his part, Mr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Marketing Department at Union Coop, highlighted that “the initiative comes in line with the Coop’s commitment to serving its society, and instilling the spirit of giving and positive values.” Al Bastaki also noted that the authority and the coop have raised the number of packages to 1300 this year, representing a 30% increase over last year’s initiative. The packages include personal hygiene products and products to protect pilgrims from heat exhaustion.
