Union Coop, the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE supported 64 Government and Private Organizations, and implemented ‘shareholders happiness’ programs totaling AED 33,555,000 during year 2018. The plan is to continue the process of delighting the shareholders and consumers in reflection to its outstanding performance in the retail sector, in addition to support and implement innovative programs with a positive impact.

H.E. Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi, CEO of Union Coop said: “Union Coop carried out 6 programs benefitting the shareholders with a total of AED 11 Million and 291 thousand, thereby benefitting 3782 families. The community contributions are in line with Union Coop’s strategy of excellence in providing social services within the region it operates (Dubai), and to emphasize our role in serving the community and participate in social development and accelerate the speed of development.

On community support, the CEO said that during the year 2018, more than 64 government and private entities were supported, both financially and morally with a total amount of about AED 224 Million.

He added that Union Coop aims to generate social awareness and constructive culture, where Union Coop sponsors  the marketing and awareness campaigns of Ministries, Government and Private organizations by printing the slogans on the eco-friendly shopping bags or allowing to place their counters in malls and branches of Union Coop or by displaying these slogans of the campaigns on cash-register screens in the branches of Union Coop.

“Union Coop has carried out about 20 educational campaigns aimed at spreading awareness in various fields, one of which encouraging Union Coop employees and community activists to make sports a lifestyle,” said Al Falasi.
