During his private visit to Morocco, Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Fresh Category Trade Dept. Manager, Union Coop, met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Agriculture in the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Youssef Al-Jabha. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation and supplying Union Coop with high-quality Moroccan products that are also exported to the European Union, in addition to visiting plants of classification and packaging of vegetables and fruits, farms for breeding and fattening livestock, abattoirs, and the COPAC Cooperative, the largest station in the Souss-Massa region.
Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi also visited the farms for the production of citrus, tomatoes and basic vegetables in Morocco in the regions of Souss-Massa, Agadir, Houara, Tata and Marrakesh, intending to get acquainted with the latest and best materials used in agriculture and the possibilities, developments and renaissance witnessed in Morocco in the trade of fresh vegetables and fruits, in addition to establishing commercial relations between Union Coop and Moroccan farmers, searching for available investment opportunities and bringing new types of products to meet the desires of consumers.
Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi said that he was on a private visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, and took advantage of his presence there, and made working visits to some farms and food establishments in the context of exchanging experiences and expertise and reviewing the best practices followed in agriculture and vegetable trade, and providing opportunities for more joint action within Union Coop’s framework of efforts to expand the scope of its import of vegetables, fruits and fresh food products.
He added that Union Coop is constantly seeking to do more to enrich its successful experiences in the field of retail trade and search for new investment opportunities by organizing periodic visits to countries to import fresh food products with high quality, to increase the choices available to consumers and Union Coop dealers.
