The events were in different branches and locations across Dubai with 489 Donors participating in the cause

Union Coop, which is also one of the largest retail names in the UAE, conducted 18 blood donation events in the year 2022. These events were conducted in cooperation with DHA – Dubai Health Authority at Union Coop-managed malls and branches in Dubai.

Cooperative maintained that Blood donation events make one of the very important pillars of corporate social responsibility initiatives that it undertakes to fulfil its responsibilities towards the society in which it operates. Events like these educate the residents on the importance of blood donation and its benefits to the community and further motivate them to be a part of such initiatives regularly; sharing that 489 proud donors participated in the events held in 2022.

The cooperative confirmed that it would continue to organize and implement blood donation drives and similar initiatives during the year 2023, which will be implemented in coordination with DHA and similar competent authorities. These initiatives will be implemented based on a planned schedule, so that a large number of participants can be reached through different locations and their contributions can be donated to the specific authorities, ultimately saving innocent lives.

The cooperative indicated that the blood donation camps witnessed an increasing demand from participants of various nationalities, wherein a specialized medical team from Dubai Health Authority received the donors and assisted with the initial registration and assessment process. Based on the initial assessment the blood donation process was completed with the eligible donors
