Union Coop, the largest cooperative in the UAE, has launched a special initiative titled “Free Fruit for Children”, a first of its kind initiative in the Middle East that aims to offer a fresh fruit and vegetables meal to children visiting the coop with their families.

Commenting on this, Mr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Marketing Department at Union Coop, said: “The new initiative comes in line with the Year of Giving designated by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, as the real giving lies in making families and children happy.”

“Our goal is to present innovative and non-conventional ideas to instill the culture of healthy eating in future generations, and support the efforts of stakeholders to spread awareness around healthy eating and public health,” he added, noting that children visiting the coop will get their healthy meals free of charge.

Al Bastaki highlighted that the initiative was inaugurated in Mirdif branch, and it will be extended to all other branches soon, to cover the widest audience possible.
