Watani Al Emarat Foundation met with a delegation from Union Coop, the largest consumer cooperative in the UAE, at the Foundation’s headquarters to discuss the means of mutual cooperation to propose innovative ideas, programs and activities to contribute realizing pillars of the Year of Giving.

The meeting was held between H.E Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, Director-General of the Watani Al Emarat Foundation, and Suhail Al Bastaki, the Director of the Happiness and Marketing Department at Union Coop. both sides discussed means of Mutual cooperation through exchanging expertise in the fields of philanthropy. In addition to that, they discussed a number of programs and activities of mutual interest that enhance positivity and giving in the community.

Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi affirmed the importance of cooperation with Union Coop which has participated in many national and volunteer activities and events that contributed greatly to serving the country and Community. These programs also serve the UAE Vision 2021 launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Al Falasi also thanked Union Coop for its constant support and communication for sponsoring national and charity activities in line with the activities of the Year of Giving. He noted that this was accentuated during Flag Day, as well as the activities of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

For his part, Suhail Al Bastaki said that charity work is deeply rooted in the Union Coop identity and methodology. He also explained that the meeting supports this belief with new ideas that contribute to serving community via future programs and activities.

On the sideline of the meeting, Al Falasi honored Union Coop for its contributions to the success of the Foundation’s activities during the first half of 2017. He awarded Suhail Al Bastakion behalf of Union Coop a commemorative shield and a certificate of appreciation. The meeting was also attended by senior leaders from the two sides, where a number of section managers and employees were also honored.
