Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to celebrate the UAE Flag Day, which coincides with the accession of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Union Coop raised 27 national flags high above its branches and outlets in the Emirate of Dubai at exactly 11:00 am on Thursday 2 November.

“Our celebration comes as a renewal of loyalty to our beloved homeland and its leadership. We are expressing gratitude and loyalty to the founding fathers. We strive to present an honourable Emirati image stemming from our belief, loyalty, love and sense of belonging to the UAE, its leadership, and dear flag” Said Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi, Union Coop CEO.

Al Falasi noted that the celebrations included many activities that brought happiness and pleasure to the Union Coop staff and visitors. The national anthem and other national songs were broadcasted through the sound systems in all Union Coop’s branches and outlets alongside. Staff members also distributed flags to help visitors celebrate the occasion.

“We, as citizens of this nation, must work hard to achieve the vision of our wise leadership led by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The foundations of this ambitious vision were laid down by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his founding brothers who embodied in their personality the most sublime meanings of patriotism and loyalty to their people and land.” Added Al Falasi.

On their part, the Union Coop staff of all positions and nationalities expressed their thanks and gratitude for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for this national initiative that promotes meanings of loyalty and belonging among citizens and residents of this noble land, who do not recognize the meaning of impossible in all walks of life.
