The Business Majlis under the slogan “Our Actions are our Future” was held at Rotana Al Bandar Hotel – Dubai

Highlighting a strong message against the wastage of food, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) hosts ‘Business Majlis’ under the slogan “Our Actions are our Future”.

Hosting both esteemed government and private sector officials, the event was organized in collaboration with food tech firm WINNOW, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi affirmed UAE’s strong commitment to reduce wastage of food. He also called on to the local and private sector enterprises to reduce food wastage by creating a sustainable production and consumption cycle.

Highlighting the importance of the cause, at Union Coop, Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi said, “One of the many reasons that make our country so great is the value embedded deep in our culture with respect to sustainability. Food wastage is a severe issue and we wholeheartedly support the concern raised by honourable Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. Earlier this year during the holy month of ‘Ramadan’, we coordinated with the Community Development Authority as ‘Platinum Sponsors’ to offer Suhour to the needy. While preparing the meal packages we paid attention to minute details to avoid wastage of food. ”
