On Wednesday, July 16, 2014, Dubai Police, General Department of Protective Security and Emergency, & Explosives Security Department, has launched a campaign to increase awareness of fireworks dangers. The Campaign took place in Etihad Mall, sponsored by Union Cooperative Society, in order to educate children about the risks of fireworks and the potential hazardous injuries that might be caused as a result of their use of such fireworks. As a documentation of the community partnership between the police and the community, a Toll free 8008888 has been allotted for public to report on places that are selling fireworks.

The campaign was highly valued by people as a success and met high expectations among audience where it continued to late hours, wherein the audience showed positive response to the campaign events and competitions held for the public, in collaboration with SANID Volunteers. The event has included a workshop for Children “Marsam” and educative comic drama, in addition to awarding prizes to attendees given by Dubai police along with Union Cooperative Society, represented in Etihad Mall.
