This is not the first time Union Coop and CDA are coming together for such a noble cause

On the occasion of International Day for Older Persons, Union Coop, the largest cooperative in the UAE with CDA organized a social event at Al Barsha Hall, Al Barsha, Dubai for the elderly people of Thuker Social Club.

The event was  attended by H.E Huraiz Al-Murr Bin Huraiz, CEO of Social Care and Development Sector at Community Development Authority (CDA), Ms. Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of the Elderly Dept. at CDA,  Mr. Shuaib Al Hammadi, Marketing Section Manager at Union Coop and a number of employees.

CDA honored Union Coop for its initiatives towards the elderly during its celebration on the occasion of International Day of Elderly. Mr. Shuaib Al Hammadi received the award on behalf of H.E. Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi, CEO of Union Coop.

Speaking about the event and the values towards the elderly, Mr. Shuaib Al Hammadi said, “ In the blessed nation of the UAE, it’s not only about one day for the elderly, as it is our moral responsibility to take care of them regularly. All events and activities we organise are aimed at recognizing and appreciating their efforts for establishing the foundation of the UAE. Their early hard work and dedication are one of the vital reasons behind the prosperity of the UAE.”

“Over the years, we have joined hands with the CDA for many social causes and going forward we expect many more initiatives like these, which will make a huge difference in our community,” says Al Hammadi

The event offered insight on Thukher card, which is a privilege card for the elderly in Dubai, and provides a package of services and facilities with 123 governmental and private bodies, has reached 6,614 beneficiaries.
