Union Coop, the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE organized ‘Happiness Iftar’ for the elderly members of Thukher Social Club – Community Development Authority. This move by the Retail pioneers falls in line with the ‘Year of Tolerance’ and the firm’s commitment to implement initiatives and programs with noble objectives, which contribute to instilling genuine societal concepts.

From Union Coop, the ‘Happiness Iftar’ was attended by Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Marketing Department, Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Fresh Category Trade Dept. Manager, Mr. Mansoor Essa Al Yedaiwi, Admin Affairs Deputy Director, Mr. Saleh Radi, Space Management Manager, Mr. Imad Rashid, Media Section Manager, Mr. Mohammed Abbas, Manager of Umm Suqeim Smart Branch, and several officials of the Community Development Authority and employees from both sides.

Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki said: “Union Coop is keen to organize this event every year to break the fast of senior Emiratis, who together with the Founding Fathers took the responsibility on their shoulders, to build a state based on love, justice, equality, goodness and generosity. We organized a collective breakfast for them, effectively bringing joy and pleasure to the hearts of senior Emiratis as an appreciative gesture for what they have done for the country.”

The event saw a group prayer, followed by group Iftar, gift distribution ceremony and some friendly exchanges as well.
