Union Coop, the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE recently concluded its sports tournament 2019, which consisted of 8 different games organized by its ‘Human Resources and Emiratization’ Department. 55 Employees from winning teams were honored in an awarding ceremony held at staff accommodation in Muhaisnah, Dubai.

Winners were honored by Mr. Ahmed Bin Kenaid, Director of Human Resources and Emiratization dept., along with Mr. Tariq Alserkal, Staff Accommodation Unit Head, in the presence of a number of employees.

Explaining the importance of such sporting events for employees, Bin Kenaid said: – “Union Coop is keen to organize sporting events on a regular basis because we believe ‘sports’ is essential for everyone, not only due to its physical benefits but also because it promotes psychological well-being. Moreover, these events help us achieve the goal of employee and consumer happiness at the same time.”

Bin Kenaid implies that happy and healthy employees eventually serve the consumer in the best manner, thereby resulting in an increased level of consumer satisfaction and happiness, one of the important elements of Union Coop company culture. Employee Happiness Unit at Union Coop is committed to establishing a positive working environment for the employees and make Union Coop the best place to work.

Union Coop has organized 12 different championships, which saw 491 employees participate through 91 teams. This event is a part of Employee Happiness initiatives, which looks forward to implements effective programs that establishes a healthy work culture and employee satisfaction.

This sports championship included games like Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket, Table Tennis, and Baby foot table, Ping Pong, Carom.
