Over the years, delegations from multiple nations have visited Union Coop to study its modus operandi

Union Coop, a leading retail cooperative, welcomed a specialized delegation from China consisting of officials representing various Chinese companies specializing in general trade and independent entrepreneurs. The primary objective of the visit was to gain insights into Union Coop’s best practices in the retail sector, foster opportunities for trade collaboration, and explore the potential introduction of new Chinese products to the cooperative.

The esteemed Chinese delegation was received by Eng. Abdulla Mohammad Rafie Al Dallal, Board of Director at Union Coop, and Mr. Mohamed Al Hashemi, Chief Executive Officer, alongside key executives including Mr. Nicolas Allan, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Niels Groen, Chief Commercial Officer, Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Corporate Communication Director, and Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Fresh Category Trade Dept. Manager, along with other dedicated members of the cooperative.

During the meeting held at the Union Coop headquarters in Al Warqa City Mall, the visiting delegation was briefed on the essential services provided by the cooperative, encompassing best practices in retailing food items, efficient delivery services, customer satisfaction initiatives, expansion strategies, and innovative digital solutions in the retail sector. The delegation also gained valuable insights into the distinctive retail trade culture at Union Coop.

Representatives of Union Coop underscored the strategic importance of fostering trade ties with China, highlighting the longstanding bilateral trade relations between China and the UAE. Emphasis was placed on building new trade partnerships, supplying high-quality and unique products to markets, and exploring emerging business opportunities to enhance market competitiveness.

The meeting facilitated a fruitful exchange of experiences between the two parties, addressing inquiries from both the visiting delegation and Union Coop. Discussions centered around potential avenues for future trade cooperation, emphasizing mutual benefits and collaboration.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the visiting delegation commended Union Coop for providing an opportunity to understand the intricacies of managing the production and import of food products, as well as gaining insights into the latest supply-chain technologies employed.
