With reference to the above subject and in line with the Union Coop’s strategy of excellence in corporate social responsibility in the region (Dubai) where it operates, and as a reaffirmation of our role in serving the community, participating in social development, and driving progress, Union Coop has contributed to supporting its shareholders through the Shareholders Happiness Programs.

1. Sa’ada Program:
This program is designated for low-income shareholder families and beneficiaries of social assistance, including those receiving aid from the Ministry of Community Development, Community Development Authority, or charitable associations. Applications were accepted from 01/03/2024 to 30/06/2024. A total of (1433) purchase cards worth AED 500 each per month for 6 months were issued. Registration continues until reaching the authorized limit set by the management.

2. Irada Program:
This program is allocated for shareholders with disabilities or children of shareholders. They are granted a purchase card worth AED 500 monthly for 6 months. Registration and issuance of (400) cards were completed within the program’s period from 01/03/2024 to 30/06/2024, reaching the authorized limit set by the management.

3. Tamkeen Program:
This program is designated for orphans of shareholders. They receive a purchase card worth AED 500 monthly for 6 months. Registration and issuance of (99) cards were completed within the program’s period from 01/03/2024 to 30/06/2024. Registration continues until reaching the authorized limit set by the management.

Union Coop also contributed to vital sectors in the Emirate of Dubai, including social, humanitarian, and charitable sectors, as well as partnering with governmental and semi-governmental institutions and the private sector, as follows:

1. Support for Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development (Dubai SME) and The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development: A total amount of AED 2,835,705.79.
2. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives- ‘One Billion Meals’ initiative:: A total amount of AED 2,000,000.00.
3. Islamic sector: Dubai International Holy Quran Award: A total amount of AED 500,000.
4. Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Est.: A total amount of AED 2,000,000.
5. Salaries for People of Determination Employees: A total amount of AED 450,593.18.
6. Hatta Farming Festival: A total amount of AED 104,000.
7. General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs: AED 50,000.
8. Dubai Club for People of Determination: A total amount of AED 120,000.
9. Emirates Down Syndrome Association: A total amount of AED 300,000.
10. Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Islamic Culture: A total amount of AED 150,000.
11. University of Dubai: A total amount of AED 100,000.
12. Ministry of Community Development: AED 50,000.
13. UAE Genetic Diseases Association: AED 29,700.

On the other hand, Union Coop also contributed to social awareness and constructive cultural dissemination in the community to support cohesive social development and elevate cultural standards. The Cooperative sponsors marketing and awareness campaigns for governmental and private institutions by displaying their campaign logos on point-of-sale screens at Cooperative branches or having the ground staff wear shirts bearing campaign logos.
