Union Coop and Ministry of Community Development sign MoU to Strengthen Relationship

Union Coop, the largest Cooperative in UAE signs a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Community Development, supporting the limited income group with social assistance benefits.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Naji Al-Hai, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Sector at the Ministry of Community Development and Mr. Hareb Mohammed Bin Thani, Director of Operations Sector at Union Coop, with staff members from both sides present. This MoU will see limited income groups in the state become eligible for social assistance, through purchase cards worth AED 240,000 000.
Sighting the vision established upon the beliefs and values of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, His Excellency Naji Al-Hai says, “The MoU was signed by Ministry of Community Development and Union Coop, parallel to the 2021 vision and vision of the Ministry. Through this, we together aim to achieve a better life for the people of UAE, by ensuring quality social services and collaboration between different social sectors within the country,” “This Year of Zayed, we expect more fruitful partnerships and initiatives that will further propel community development and social development for Emirati families.”
Explaining the importance of this initiative and role of Union Coop, Hareb Mohammed Bin Thani, Director of Operations Sector- Union Coop says, “We at Union Coop have always been more than happy to contribute to the society in our own unique and helpful ways. This is one of the many moves, in line with Federal Government’s vision promoting social wellbeing and community welfare.” “Sheikh Zayed has always been a motivational figure for all of us and our social efforts have always been centered around his values.”
It should be duly noted that this Memorandum is part of a series of MoUs signed between the two entities, which over time has strengthened their relationship, in a bid to promote their common vision of social responsibility and community welfare.
