Union Coop, the largest cooperative in the UAE, was awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2013, Information Security Management System Certificate for it’s IT Department. The certificate was awarded by Bureau Veritas, a leading Certification Body.

Mr. Marwan Aridi, Certification manager at Bureau Veritas presented the certificate to Mr. Aiman Othman director of information technology department, attended the handover ceremony‎ Mr. Harib Mohammed bin Thani, Director of Operations Division, number of division directors, section managers and employees.

“Gaining this certificate proves the efficiency of our information security systems,” Aiman Othman commented. “It also asserts our commitment to adopt best international standards for data security and protection. Our Department has striven over the past 18 months to meet the requirements of this international certificate.”
Mr. Marwan Aridi, Certification manager said that: “By Implementing and certifying its Information Security Management System, Union Coop – IT Department demonstrates a clear commitment to protect the confidentiality and integrity of its information, minimizing the risk of information security breaches. The ISO 27001 certificate was issued following a systematic and rigorous external examination of the organization’s respective management system”.

Certification is the most credible way to demonstrate excellence and drive continuous improvement and The Bureau Veritas Certification Mark is recognized and renowned globally as a valued symbol of reliability, sustainability and trust.
