Retail Pioneer ‘Union Coop’ has been officially recognized as an Autism-Friendly organization, receiving the prestigious Autism-Friendly Certificate (AFC) from the Dubai Autism Center. This achievement highlights Union Coop’s dedication to inclusivity and its commitment to creating accessible environments for individuals with autism.
The certificate was awarded as part of the Autism-Friendly Program (AFP), an initiative launched by the Dubai Autism Center aimed at training public and private sector organizations. The program promotes a systematic and continuous process of evaluation, learning, and development, while encouraging innovation in raising accessibility standards. Its ultimate goal is to ensure that individuals with autism can access services across all sectors on par with others.
The award ceremony took place at Union Coop’s Headquarters, Al Warqa City Mall (Dubai), where Mr. Mohamed Al Hashemi, Chief Executive Officer of Union Coop, accepted the certificate. The honor was presented by Mr. Mohammad Al Emadi, Director General and Board Member of the Dubai Autism Center, in the presence of senior representatives from both organizations.
Commenting on the recognition, Mr. Al Hashemi said, “This achievement solidifies our unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility and our belief in building a more inclusive community. Union Coop will continue to enhance its services and environment to ensure all individuals feel welcomed and supported.”
