138 People Benefit from Union Coop’s Early Diabetes Detection Initiative

On the occasion of ‘World Diabetes Day’, observed annually on November 14th, Union Coop, in collaboration with Prime Hospital and Sultan Al Olama Medical Center, organized a health event aimed at raising awareness about diabetes and the importance of early detection. A total of 138 people benefited from this initiative, which was held at Al Warqa City Mall and Etihad Mall.
The initiative included a variety of awareness activities and free medical screenings, along with informative brochures on the risks of diabetes for both children and adults. The focus was on prevention, treatment, and managing the condition for those living with it.
The services offered included free blood sugar level testing, blood pressure measurements, blood sugar checks, body mass index assessments, as well as specialized consultations from experts who supervised the initiative. The consultations emphasized ways to prevent diabetes, the importance of proper nutrition, and staying physically active.
The event saw a positive response from shoppers who expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which contributes to promoting public health. This event is part of Union Coop’s ongoing community efforts to enhance the health and well-being of the public.
