Union Coop, the largest consumer cooperative in the UAE was recognized by Dubai Municipality for their outstanding effort and support in raising food safety awareness in the emirate of Dubai during 2021.

Mrs. Priya Chopra – Strategy, Innovation & Corporate Development Director confirmed that the cooperative places food safety at the top of its priorities, as it is an essential component of the food security system in the UAE, noting that training courses, lectures and workshops are organized to support the cooperative employees in accordance with the international practices to help them offer the best services to consumers in cooperation with the regulatory authorities of the country.

She added that the training courses organized by the cooperative to raise awareness of food safety included topics related to the basic stages of manufacturing, preparation, handling, transportation, storage, display and delivery of food, pointing out that the Union Coop is considered proactive in following preventive measures related to food safety.
