Main Function:

Assist IT Management in Development and Implementation of Security Practices, Policies and Procedures, outlining the business’s continuity priorities, assisting in business continuity strategies and plans, ensuring the security and recovery of business processes, and implementing best practices in disaster recovery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Design and monitor cost-effective security programs for the overall security and integrity of the UNION COOP information, information systems, and information networks
2. Design & implement Information Security & business continuity Strategy aligned with business strategy to make risk aware decisions to protect critical assets of Union Coop with reduced cost.
3. Develop and enforce Information Security & business continuity governance program, IS & BC objectives and propose projects and initiatives which help achieve security objectives.
4. Conduct periodic security risk assessments of the IT environment to ensure that controls adequately address the threats posed by new technologies, viruses …etc.
5. Work with all functional business areas to support business in developing and maintaining a corporate wide BCM program that addresses business recovery and emergency response management
6. Liaise with BC Coordinators to develop effective working relationships and documented BC plans. Assisting business units with BIA and BC Plans and Strategies. Develop and lead the IT DR Plans and Strategies to support the business processes.
7. Help develop and execute the maintenance and testing programs for all business plans, websites, and other information/communication tools
8. Liaise with IT and business teams to drive improvements around identified gaps, set recovery time objectives, and conveyed business needs/expectations
9. Assist senior management with business plans to Enterprise BC goals and challenging business leaders on identification of critical functions and needs.
10. Provide appropriate security training program and awareness sessions to Union Coop employees and Co-ordinate with IT Staff to provide knowledge and experiences related to Security Awareness
11. Ensure regular review and update of the IT policy and procedures
12. Manage the Security Steering Committee agenda, schedule meetings, take minutes and issue
13. Provide visibility and reporting to the Business Continuity Management Steering Committee and the Executive on the critical functions, individuals and infrastructure within the business plans
14. Monitors all the Sections in IT are applying Policies and Procedures as outlined by IT Management and Audit Reports
15. Support the business in the investigation of any reported information security incidents.
16. Establish a reporting process to ensure that management is kept appraised of the effectiveness of Information Technology security and problem resolution.
17. Follow up with all IT Staff for related action plan for any Recommendation from Internal Audit and External Audit
18. Conduct periodic Audit on IT Systems and provide corrective solution, to measure the readiness on IT Department to face any Audit.
19. Implement and Manage IT Projects as directed by IT management.
20. Manage and supervises employees in the Information Technology Security area. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
21. Provide guidance and direction for the physical and logical protection of Information Technology resources to other functional Department.
22. Ensure periodic restoration of all required to be tested by the concerned.

Experience
• 8 – 10 years of experience in work field.

Knowledge:
• Sound knowledge of applications, databases, computer operations, networks, customer services, helpdesk and business processes, business continuity strategies and recovery plans, business impact analysis, BC drills and testing.
